Inside perspective: Adrien Dupuy Interior Design

"Rayon has significantly improved my productivity and reduced the time spent on drawings. Before, I used a combination of AutoCAD, Rhino, and InDesign. Now I can do almost everything (besides 3D) in one software"

We had the pleasure of speaking with Adrien Dupuy, founder of his own interior design studio and PLATO, an office furniture company, both based in Paris.

In this interview, Adrien offers an inside look at the innovative design process behind a medical center in the heart of Paris. His clients wanted the space to feel like a modern tech company rather than a traditional clinic. To achieve this, Adrien used modular shelving units to create a startup-inspired aesthetic that is also affordable.

Adrien also shared why Rayon has become his go-to design tool: “The PDF export feature was my first crush for Rayon—it was easier than any other tool I’d used. Since then, I’ve discovered so many additional features, like the extensive block library and intuitive drawing tools that help me work faster. I’ve also streamlined my workflow by relying solely on Rayon, eliminating the need for tools like AutoCAD, Rhino, and Illustrator. And of course, Rayon’s competitive pricing makes it even more appealing.”

Can you introduce yourself and your design studio?

"I'm Adrien Dupuy. I’m based in Paris, and I’m the founder of Plato, an office furniture company, and an interior design studio that also carries my name. We specialize in designing office spaces for startups, as well as apartments, restaurants, and other types of projects."

How do you understand and meet client's needs?

"It all starts with a conversation. We take the time to really understand the client’s specific needs, how they plan to use the space, and the functionality they want. After gathering all this information, we create a tailored solution that works perfectly for their space and their future needs. Our focus is always on usability, ensuring the space is functional and sustainable for long-term use."

Can you share an example of a creative solution you've used in one of your projects?

"For a medical center located in the heart of Paris, the client desired a space that resembled a modern startup office rather than a traditional medical facility. To achieve this goal, we utilized a modular shelving system to create all the carpentry for the center, including desks, restrooms, and the reception area. The result was a consistent and cohesive design that was also cost-effective, helping us fulfill the client's vision."

Which Rayon features made you decide to start using it for your space design projects?

"Initially, it was the export feature. Rayon made it super easy to export layouts at scale, quickly and beautifully, on the desired page format. This was a game-changer compared to the software I had used before. It was this ease of exporting PDFs that first drew me to Rayon."

How has Rayon improved your design process compared to the tools you used previously?

"Rayon has significantly improved my productivity and reduced the time spent on drawings. Before, I used a combination of AutoCAD, Rhino, and InDesign. With Rayon, I can do almost everything (other than 3D) in one software, which saves a lot of time and effort.

Another standout feature is the block library. It allows me to quickly draft spaces using blocks that are all to scale and visually cohesive. This saves me the hassle of searching for individual DWG files from different brands. Rayon’s all-in-one approach and its fair pricing make it an invaluable tool for my workflow."
